I'll bet you a beer, you'll be the only Pentax pusher. On the mltiple workshops I've been on in only one was there another Pentax user out of over 100 total participants in all the workshops!

Enjoy!

How many do you need to take Stan. In the workshops I've attended it was advised to bring 10 images.
My target is 10 images; I can cut these down to 15 pretty easily.

A couple of things jumped out at me upon review of your collection -

*Spring Blossom's is the title but most of the blossoms are out of focus.
I like the softness, the colors of this as is. If I had a version with the blossoms more in focus, I might still prefer this. But unfortunately I don't have an in-focus version to do the comparison. It won't be in my final set unless I need more flora to balance the avian fauna shots.
*# 22 & 33 are almost identical I'd eliminate 33 as the dark mass in the upper edge is more distracting than in 22.
Agree, inclusion of 33 was a mistake, it is now gone.
*# 31's subject needs more room to the edges.
Agree, but it is uncropped. A grab shot with a 300mm on the camera, I couldn't get any further away without stepping off the dock.

Whose workshop is it and where is it centered?
John and Barbara Gerlach. We'll be working out of a lodge about 20 miles south of Munising.

Enjoy the experience and ask questions. I'd also advise having the instructor look at several of your compositions thru your camera and have him show you what his compositions of the same subject would be.
You're paying him to do these things.
Good suggestion - thanks.

I've learned more about light & compositions during my workshops than any other experience.
I have three "issues" on my list: light (including use of flash), composition, and when/how/why to use a polarizer.

Subject: GESO: Portfolio of nature shots

For a nature photography workshop I am taking part in (in Michigan's Upper Peninsula starting this Sunday evening), I am supposed to bring along some of my recent work. I've put together this "best of" collection, still need to narrow it down further. You have seen and commented on some of these before. Bob S. - thanks for your continued prodding on lightening up the eagle shot and thanks to others for their comments on earlier versions of several of these.
