Strange, I was always under the impression that the 80-200 4.7-5.6 wasn't that good of a lens. I'm not sure where I got that impression...I won't need a fast lens (will be using 400 or 800 ASA) The idea of getting something cheap is so I can eventually get a better/faster lens (or wait until Pentax comes out with a 70-200 F4 AF).
I don't NEED the 300mm end. I would prefer to buy a fixed focal 300 or extend a 200 F4 manual focus (1.4/1.7 extender). Hmmm...maybe I'll give the 80-200 another look.
