Hi David.
The 80-200 4.7/5.6 is my main lense for the
horse shows i shoot,(no flair with hood)
however it would be nice to have
a faster ie: f 4 or f 2.8,on some of the cloudy
dull days so i can keep the shutter speed at 1 1/000,
thats why i'm looking at a used 70-200 f 4 or the
Tokina 80-200 f2.8,not to replace but to compliment.
Its taken some nice pictures in the 4 years i'v had
it.Took a nasty fall in 1998,but came through ok.
It could be worth a look and the used price should be
reasonable.

Dave

Strange, I was always under the impression that the 80-200 4.7-5.6
wasn't
that good of a lens. I'm not sure where I got that impression...I
won't need
a fast lens (will be using 400 or 800 ASA) The idea of getting
something
cheap is so I can eventually get a better/faster lens (or wait until
Pentax
comes out with a 70-200 F4 AF).

I don't NEED the 300mm end. I would prefer to buy a fixed focal 300 or
extend a 200 F4 manual focus (1.4/1.7 extender).

Hmmm...maybe I'll give the 80-200 another look.

Thanks to all for the ideas and opinions.

Dave
