It simplifies vertical shooting considerably, and with a big lens, like the
60-250, it provides better blaance.

Does K5 battery grip provide the space to hold a remote & a spare SD card?
The vertical shooting function can sometimes be a pain.
Leave it turned on all the time and every time you bump the camera it
trips the shutter. Or leave it turned off until you need it & find out
it's no longer working.
The extra battery life is worth the aggravation from the other, plus
being a lot easier to change batteries if you've got a spare handy. The
place to store a remote & spare card is a bonus.
