The peroxide / baking soda and Dawn actually wound up working well - by
this morning the smell on the cat was gone. There was a lingering odor
in the kitchen where he ran in and I rather stupidly applied a mixture
of chlorine bleach and vinegar. I did not realize that this was
virtually as dangerous as ammonia and bleach! But it cleared up the odor...
