This will be very significant. If it were any camera company besides Sony, I would be extremely interested. I just flat out no longer trust Sony. > > I would expect this to be the same sensor to be used in the Pentax FF. > > I'm very curious how well this camera will work for Sony, with the > combination of short registration distance and big sensor. This is pretty much exactly the form factor that I'm looking for. >From an image path perspective, it has the potential to have the best image quality on the basis of physics. It would be an interesting thought experiment to look at the physics of lens design and construction, sensor design and construction and determine what sensor size and lens would give the theoretical best performance in which situation. > > I still tend to want a real viewfinder in my cameras, but I can see a > significant place for this camera. The advantage of SLR in the film era is that it duplicated the optical path for when the rangefinder wasn't close enough. Mirrorless not only emulates the optical path, but reads exactly what is on the sensor. -- Larry Colen [email protected] http://red4est.com/lrc -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
