LOL, Zos. It means you're not proper Pentax fan, you know.
Back in the days when people were busy comparing Kodak and Fuji films,
Nikon had F70 which had modern electronic hard to understand UI and
Pentax OTOH introduced MZ-5 and later MZ-5n which was absolutely
brilliant instant cult classic camera. Why - just because instead of the
electronic gizmotry it had pretty much the same dial controls as this
Nikon. You had aperture ring on the lens with A position in case you
wanted the camera to do the choosing for you. You had a shutter speed
ring on top of the camera with A position in case you did not want to
bother with that. You had exposure compensation ring... Ultimately you
would look on top plate of the camera and see on the spot everything you
needed to know in terms of photographic settings.
I think this camera is absolutely brilliant. It does pretty much exactly
what Pentaxians were asking for so long and probably won't see happen -
a photographic camera (no video, thank you) with proper mechanical
controls (no 12 page menu system, thank you so much) for the important
settings that is as compatible as Nikon cameras can possibly be,
including but not limited to the oldest Nikon mount lenses ever produced.
It has sensibly few pixels on its sensor, it is not too big or too heavy
and I reckon, given Nikon brilliance in all things mechanical as far as
their top tier models go, it will also be rather reliable and joyful to
operate.
I have Pentax MX and it is extremely easy to operate without taking eyes
off the viewfinder.
The only downsize of this camera is rather high price, but I am sure
soon enough it would be possible to have it for less money.
All in all - Nikon is doing right things.

It looks nice for sure. The controls look awkward and would require 2
hands in a lot of settings changes however. I think DSLRs have evolved
forward for a reason. I'm a huge fan of designs that allow one handed,
eye level settings changes.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this here yet:

In my opinion, that is a pretty sweet looking camera, especially in
silver. Maybe the rumors of an LX-style Pentax camera aren't too far
off?
