I think what it is claiming to be is a camera for "old school" shooters who don't need the camera to do everything but cook them breakfast in the morning. So, in that sense I think it is purposely "complicated".
It sure doesn't match the K-3 in hardly any category other than being a full frame sensor. FPS is 3/sec slower than the K-3. Only has 1/4000th of a second top shutter speed. Doesn't have switchable AA filter. Doesn't have 2 card slots. AF sensitivity only goes to -1 EV. I don't see ANY mention of video (or did I miss it). It seems like THIS is the main reason they are marketing it the way they are. Takes some nerve (and marketing) to put out an expensive DSLR that doesn't even have the ability to do ANY video.
