The glass rendered bright of course but there was no light to speak of in the
room, just a bit of a glow from a distant television. In other tests, I was
also able to get the DA* 50-135 to focus on the wood grain of cabinets in the
dark and distant kitchen. This all came after a rather frustrating day shooting
a birthday party in an indoor kid playground, which while not brightly lit,
wasn't horribly dim. Had a hell of a time getting focus with the K-5. The metal
halide lighting may have had something to do with it, but I'm relieved to see
how well the K-3 focuses. My initial impression: no comparison.
