hi, How realistic is the advertised support limit of tripods ? As in if a tripod system's specs say supports 12 lbs, can it really do that or is putting anything over say 10 lbs on it make the tripod unstable/collapse/ give away ?
I have a bogen 3011N with 3030 head and it serves me well with the small itty-bitty lenses I have. Its specs say supports 11.20 lbs. But I am receiving a SMC K 135-600mm lens soon and the lens itself weighs 4070 g (~9 lbs -- source kmp page). With the cam body about 1 lbs, thats making it really close to the max weight.
