Probably something to with my age, but I took the Olympus E-3 + grip to Versailles and on one day lugged it around with the 50-200/2.8-3.3 lens (which I was rather amazingly able to shoot handheld) as well as the normal 14-50/2.8-3.x. That's a bloody heavy rig to schlep about all day, and I can't tell you I longed for something more convenient. But it's definitely a good range for a place as geometric as Versailles.
