Thanks, Bruce.
I guess if I can hold off for a year, or so, I might be able to foot the
bill for the whole megillah -- body, computer. I'm still pretty damned
happy with my K-5, but knowing the improved auto-focus is out there
makes me give it the ol' side-eye every now and then.

I didn't let that stop me. :-) FWIW to you, my 2007 iMac is handling
the K-3 files just fine. (2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo, 6 Gig RAM.) A little
slower to render previews, but not too bad overall.
I'm wondering if I'd be better off just getting the improved auto-focus of a
used K-5 II -- even though I would like the extra increased number of
focus-points in the K-3.
I'm pretty sure the K-3 is a big leap over even the K-5 II, though I
never had opportunity to A-B them. Just going by reviews and my own
experience so far. Myself, I'd just hang onto what you've got now
until you can upgrade to the K-3.
