One of the easiest and best ways to improve your photography is to critically edit your images.
apparently in reply to my statement:

i do critically edit, and i continue to learn from it, yet when nitpicking on whether i prefer the pollen on this stamen or on that stamen to be most in focus, or which bee's wing has the nicest motion-blur, i can reach a point of diminishing returns
if i let go of some of the nitpicking, i often realize that the energy would be better spent on some other photos that interest me more; so on my intermediate-quality photos, i try to pick one keeper from a scene and live with it; i think it is good practice to let go of some photos
