The V500 has been replaced with the V550, the specifications seem to be
the same, the MSRP is lower as is the street price.

I have the Epson V600; mine must be better because I paid more than that for it!
Haven’t done that many slides yet, mostly MF and 35mm B&W negatives. Works fine.
