Zos, I much rather Pentax brand name dissolved into Ricoh similarly to what happened to Minolta. Look at Minolta shooters. They have great line of cameras, the mount continues and all in all, Minolta community is thriving... I think that the opposite whereupon the brand name stays but company goes belly up is far less preferable option.
And somehow I am certain that in terms of innovation and historical significance, Minolta is right there with Pentax and other major camera/lens makers.
