Thanks Bob, it turns out that it is actually a 42mm thread - M42 x .75, which is different pitch to the M42 camera mount (M42 x1) but is the same as Tamron's T mount. The thread is on the end of the lens, while the current model (50mm thread) has it near the centre. The current Rodagon 135mm lens is available in 39mm, but I'm not sure whether that will be true for the older versions that I can afford. I checked the Vanbar catalogue and the Schneider, Nikon and Rodenstock 150's are all over AUS$1000 new while I paid $215 for the Companon S. It looks like I will be better off replacing the mount. I popped into the Camera Exchange but they didn't have any suitable retaining rings. There is a proper Schneider part listed at B&H and Cambridge, but it is US$25 - $30 plus of course postage, so I'll keep looking here for a while. Maybe I'll find a broken adaptall lens and hacksaw the end off it :-) Paul - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
