If I was going to buy a camera of this sort, I'd rather have the Nikon1 V3.

I figure anyone who can afford a Rolex & wants one should buy it, but it doesn't do a thing for me.

Same goes for Leica. If it turns your screws, knock yourself out. Just doesn't appeal to me.

If I cared about timepieces, Rolexes would offend me :)

So do you whinge over the price of Rolexes when they announce a new model too?
If you don't care, why say anything?

Having spent some time with a borrowed M, I would have zero interest
in replacing my X-T1 with one at an even-money swap. The M has good
controls and great lenses, lousy low-light capabilities, no telephoto
capabilities, and no autofocus. Also, I think the better of the
recent Fujinon & Micro-4/3 lenses are totally competitive with the
Leicas.

Here’s my secret heresy: I think the image quality you can get from
well-done modern cameras with modern sensors is getting to be pretty
well a wash. What matters is how good the camera is at helping you
take a wide variety of pictures with the maximum speed. Leica is way,
way behind on that.

Leicas have become, in effect, Rolexes: Objects of great beauty that
add no actual functional value, but do effectively show the world how
rich you are.

I can never understand all the whinging over Leica prices. Sure, the T is
pricey—what's the big deal? No one forces you to buy it. The issue seems to be
that everyone one WANTS a Leica, they're just not willing to pay the premium
required.

Why? Well in my experience, Leica simply makes better cameras than most of the
other guys. The fact that they charge for them is a point of aggravation to
those who want one but can't afford it.

I've got five Leica bodies and fourteen Leica lenses. If I had to sell all of
my camera equipment, they'd be the last things to go, excepting the Hasselblad
SWC.

I'm sure this will annoy the Ricoh-Pentaxian-Fujistis on this list, but I've
got my fireproof suit on (permanently), flame away... :-)

They managed to preview the new Leica T without mentioning the
