i had the same thought on reading Tim's blog post (both about the definition of bokeh and about how to say it without being pedantic)

his mention of "heresy" had me wondering if some people have reduced the concept of bokeh to a snap judgement that less depth of field is better; of course, Tim was working against that, but in the process he seemed to accept the bastardized use of the term
