Thanks, Chris.
I actually thought about upgrading the pickups when I first brought it
home. There's a huge difference between those in my Strat and the
wide-range humbuckers in my Tele. But, I've grown pretty fond of the
tone I get from the Strat when played clean and I'm not sure I want to
change it. I was thinking at first about getting a pre-wired pick guard
with some hotter Fender pickups, or maybe some Seymour-Duncan Hotrails.
I'm going to give it a little more time after a good setup. If I do
change them, I'll be sure to look into Bare Knuckles, too.

Nice looker Walt. With a decent setup, those Mexican Fenders are
pretty darn good. When finances allow, it might be worth thinking
about upgrading the pickups. My son's just put Bare Knuckles in his
Tele and the sound is astounding, particularly when played through my
Marshall Bluesbreaker.

I just saw Darren's image of his cigar box guitar and figured I'd parachute

It's a 2013 Stratocaster Standard Plus-Top (aged cherry burst) -- made in
Mexico. (I just can't rationalize plunking down the dough for an American
Standard.)
It still needs a professional setup, so it's not quite the monster of a
guitar that my Telecaster is. Still, there's nothing quite like that new
guitar smell, and I haven't seen many Strats like it.
Thanks for looking!
