Darren, I know what butterfly lighting is. I thought you meant two
lights either side of her face. You are, I guess, actually referring
to the key light placed high up and the fill light placed lower down
and set 2 or so stops darker than the key. Yup, that does and would
work.

My strip light is acting as sort-of both the high and low light at
once, with the dictator mustache side-effect. I did notice that effect
but I'm not bothered enough to consider the shot fatally flawed. You
are, of course, free to do so.

If my shots only serve as a negative example for others then I'm happy
to provide the public service.
