I have been extremely pleased with my new K-5IIs. Recently, however,

Which flash unit would you recommend for use with the K-5IIs?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Different flashes depending on the situation. This page hasn't been
updated in a while, but ...

The AF200FG works remarkably well with the K10D & K20D if you just want
fill & are trying to balance the flash with ambient light.
I really haven't tried it with the K3 yet because the K3's built in
flash does a very good job, but I expect it should work as well with the
K5II as it does with the K10D & K20D.
I also have the AF360FGZ and AF540FGZ.
I'm not as happy with the AF540FGZ as I feel I should be based on how
much it costs. I think there were production quality problems with the
early AF540FGZ. It didn't work as well as it should have even before I
dropped it.
When I talked to the Pentax Rep that time they brought the 645Z to my
local independent dealer, he said they're looking to establish a new
(additional) repair facility on the east coast. Once I find out where
that is going to be, I think I'll send my AF540FGZ in to be serviced.
