Depends what you mean by "Northern most." There are black bear in
most of Alaska, except the northern and western coasts and some of the
islands, including Kodiak and the Aleutians.

I'm going from memory and I thought that the range of Black bears pretty
much ended at the Rockies, but I'm not surprised that I'm wrong.
