Yes, that well-known phrase is what I was playing with in my original post. "I think it would work better if you'd panned with the four players in motion" That is an interesting suggestion, which I may try. My initial feeling however was that the receivers were the ones moving at great speed, and therefore they should be blurred against the steady background, which is the way it feels when watching it live.
