The same could be said of racing, which even at its cheapest makes photography look cheap. For the cost of racing a low budget Spec Miata you could buy a $700-1,000 lens every month. Assuming, of course, that nothing expensive goes wrong.
So, let your wallet be glad that your interest is photography and not racing. Or, from what I hear, flying.
