I don't use a back-up program, in the sense of one that compresses everything, I use SyncToy on a 64-bit W7 box, which copies the files but still has the options for full, incremental etc. copying, which is more flexible than imaging the disk, but slower. It's a bit of MS freeware. Very simple, does its job well. You can test the back up by using the files in the destination just as you would in the source, and if you have to redtore it's just a case of using Synctoy in the other direction - no decrypting or decompressing or any crap like that.
