I'm playing around with back up software. The one that I was using

I've always just done this sort of thing manually by dragging and
dropping from one drive to another, but there must be an easier way.
What are some good back up programs that work in a Win7 64 bit
environment?
I am not concerned about free, I want something that works easily and
doesn't create it's own type of file as a back up (Acronis, as an
example, creates something with it's own file extension and calls that a
back up).
I suspect what I am looking for is something that creates a disc image.

Xcopy command perhaps?

xxcopy - an even more expanded copy utility can also do it. The /clone
switch will do an incremental backup and there are tons of other options.

"'xxcopy' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"
xxcopy is not part of windows so it has to be downloaded and installed. Freeware for personal use. See www.xxcopy.com
