Dave, I think it is better to look for replacement lens. They are inexpensive, and to fix yours may be more expensive than just to buy another one.

I posted this on Pentaxians on facebook and got several different
replies just looking for more comfort here.

I was and always do worry about jarring the sensor but after looking
at shots using my 50-200, my only spare lens they seem ok.
