yeah, a dramatic image, and your tale encourages me to use higher ISO more
this is a case where that little bit of noise actually makes a nice contrast
with the foreground subject, makes it look less sterile than it might with a
"clean" background; i think i see some sharpening and suspect some noise
reduction may have occurred (perhaps automatically); i wonder whether this
image was particularly well suited to the mechanics of those effects
i'm no herpetologist, but i'm going to guess ring-necked snake
