Is there a formula for calculating the maximum depth of the hood, given the focal length of a lens in millimeters, it's maximum aperture diameter also in millimeters, and the diameter of the hood in millimeters?
If there is, it would make it a lot easier to find the optimum hood for any given lens. I guess that it could be figured out graphically using the angle of view of a lens, as well but, rather than reinventing the wheel, perhaps someone already has the formulae at hand.
