will you be traveling with a swag wagon (i.e. not with luggage on bike)?

if so i'd consider a small sling bag/messenger bag; i've used several, and the key is to get one that can be adjusted to hang well and that has a "cross-strap" to secure around your waist (so it doesn't flop around while riding); it's tricky to get the right amount of padding into a messenger bag — most padded inserts are too bulky for me, so i often just layer some thin closed-cell foam in the bottom of the bag; probably not enough for a hard fall, but good enough for knockabout

smaller is better when on a bike — if you need to carry a lot, and/or don't need quick access a frame-mounted bag is generally better; or a backpack if you often need to carry things with you when off the bike
