Thanks, John. I do remember bikes with panniers is some photos on the site. You don’t have to carry much on the bike. Just what you need for the day. The rest is is transported to the next stop by motor vehicle. As for a specific solution, one that would accommodate my K5 and one lens, I’m leaning toward the bag suggested by Larry. And yes, a self-guided tour would be a good way to venture out.
