Took a walk along Etobicoke Creek yesterday. It ended up being a Macro day, for the most part.
Found this gal and a bunch of her friends having a feeding frenzy on these yellow flowers: http://knarfdummyblog.blogspot.ca/2015/09/european-paper-wasp.html >From the orange antennae I believe she's a European Paper Wasp, an invasive alien species that's been here for about 35 years. Problem is that they're much more successful than the Northern Paper Wasp so they may be pushing them out of their usual areas. I didn't know any of the above, but you know how it is, you take a photo, research to identify, discover a bit of new information... Hope you enjoy.
