Before you say any more, let me grab my wellies and a shovel. ;>]
That said, I might be able to buy into the abstraction if it weren't for
the refueling probe. It's very predominant and is distracting to the
balance of the aircraft. I also wonder if converting to BW would make a
difference in how I view this.

Thanks Dan. It's always very interesting to hear what others look for and see.
The subject is a jet fighter. It's a detail abstraction, not a classic
documentarian photograph of a fighter. Every bit in the photo is a part of Lt.
Scott's fighter jet, all massive shapes, colors, parts of this engine of flight
and fight. No piece of it seen in this photo is complete; it is all becoming,
waiting, ready. It awaits just Lt Scott to be in his control seat: His presence
would complete the moment, after which it will take to motion, to the air. But
even in stillness it is all motion and imperative force.
Very few of the photos I post should be read literally. ;-)

Is the subject the refueling probe(?) in the foreground or the fighter?
If it's the fighter. would like to see more of the fighter, including
Snoopy's (?) head.
If it's the probe, I would like more context for that.
Is that the nose of another fighter in the upper left? Is that
connected to the probe?

Sorry about that. First send had an extraneous character in the link.

Wandering through my photo archives, I found a whole set of photos that brought
back memories of a fine day wandering in the south of England.
