My hood (which may not have been original equipment for the lens; I got mine 
used and not in original packaging) looked far different. It was shorter, had a 
wider flare and was plastic. I don't remember if it had any graphics on it to 
indicate it was a Vivitar or S1 hood.

I'll have to search to see if I can find any examples on line.
