I'm partial to those old fashioned, bendy-in-the-middle, kind of books,
so I can read for as long as 10 gal of kerosene will keep Hurricane
lamps lit.
And so far (knock wood) I haven't lost power or internet.

How long can you read a book if the power is out? Won’t you need to re-charge
the batteries?
Stay warm!

Never got the snow we were supposed to get. It went straight from sleet
to sleet mixed with freezing rain. It's definitely building up on the
trees & power lines out there.
If the power goes off, I may not be able to get on the internet to bitch
about it for a couple of days, but I'll survive.
I've got enough wood up under a covered porch where it will stay dry to
keep my wood stove going for a week & 10 gal of 1K kerosene for the
backup kerosene heater.
I've got food I can cook without electricity & a couple of kerosene
lamps so I can read a book if I can't get to the internet or watch a
movie on the computer.
I should be Ok.

The storm that's headed up the east coast reached here about 4:00 am.
We're supposed to get sleet, 2 inches of snow and freezing rain on top
of it. So far it's been all sleet, just enough to make the street &
sidewalk treacherous.
My new idiot neighbor has already been out in his 4WD pickup truck twice
this morning.
I've got my car backed far enough down my driveway that it should be
safe unless some moron comes sliding down the street to break off the
telephone pole when they hit it.
I don't really mind snow, but if we've got to have it, I want it to come
down fast & heavy so the idiots get bogged down & stranded real early so
it will reduce the hazard when I *WALK* down to the store later.
I think I'll go make another pot of coffee ... or maybe tea or soup.
Oh! Here's a bottle of Southern Comfort.
Never mind.
