Okay, I see. But back in the early days of WiFi (circa 1998), I connected two suburban offices together via rooftop mounted dishes and two WiFi access points. The two offices were hundreds of meters apart, separated by a number of streets, trees, etc. I did have line of sight for good reception. WiFi is usually local area only because of the short stubby whip antennae. Add high gain dishes and you have long haul capability, up to 50 miles with the right hardware. Dishes are not that expensive.
