Don't I know it! No 2nd hand K3's on offer here yet & only a few K5's but
they want so much. Even K7's with std & tele lens are selling for about $700
equiv. I'll have to wait until my UK based daughter plans to visit again.

It's a shame that you can't take advantage of any of the really cheap
K-3s that we are starting to see on the used market around here. For
your animal work, the APS sensor and high resolution would do well, and
the improved DR and noise over the K-7 sensor would do wonders for the
shadow detail in your photos.
