I have both the A24f2.8 and several FA24f2 lenses (don't ask), what I have
found is that the feel of the manual focus on the clutch ring of the FA lenses
varies significantly as they wear so it hard to be absolute about it. In other
words some have a relatively precise focus feel and more worn/used units have
exhibited problems such that the clutch loses grip and the ring has to be
turned further than would normally be required.

I can state absolutely that the tactile response of the manual focus lens is
superb and that although it might not be quite as good a performer as the FA
lens. It is still no slouch and is very sharp and contrasty stopped down a
little and is a good performer wide open. It also provides the added benefits
of being very compact and a little lighter, plus it's black :-)

If you are buying used the hood is mostly included with the FA lenses whereas
I've never seen a hood sold with a K or KA 24mm and it took me a long time to
track down the rectangular Pentax one.
