i have one of those bigger, ultra-protective cases, but since i so often
need to minimize my travel kit, i never use it; it seems to equate to this:

instead, i let my cards rattle around in any old littler case, the most
common being an old CF card case which is big enough to less easily lose (in
the ditty bag that has my travel electronics), but still quite compact; the
one i have can fit 6 SD cards, but i usually just have a couple plus some
other tiny things that i also don't want to lose
