Jees are you serious?
My cameras have a 16GB card in each and I've never come close to filling
either!
I have to agree, shooting only still images, I carry a 16GB and two 8GB
class 10 cards and I can't remember ever filling up all three in a
normal day's shooting. True it's a 16mp camera, but I shoot raw but
even machine gunning at a sword demonstration half the time I didn't
fill an entire card.
Maybe if I were using a 24mp camera and shooting a wedding I'd need to
have three 16GB cards, but even then I don't think so.
The only reason I can see for carrying that much storage would be if I
were going to be somewhere where electricity was at a premium and I was
spending a couple of weeks in the field, making copying images to a
couple of backup hard drives difficult. At that point extra batteries
would be more important.
