Hah! In 55 years, I've experienced one earthquake of note. It knocked a
glass milk bottle of coins off the top of some six foot book shelves
that broke and I had to clean up. We also lost power for a couple of
days. In the past few years I've lost count of the number of blizzards
and hurricanes that have hit New York City.
I'll trade an amusement park ride that comes and visits every few
decades for winter weather where we complain when it drops into the 40s,
or summers where temps in the 90s are unusually warm any day.
