If we do get any significant sea-level rise out of "Global Warming",
they'll be giving the lower part of the island back to the Dutch &
changing the name back to New Amsterdam. 8-D

We do occasionally have earthquakes here on the east coast.

Gee, Dave, I wonder why you feel that way? :-)

I had the thought about warnings regarding blizzards and hurricanes and
such after I hit "send" to reply to Larry earlier.

Larry - only two hurricanes of note actually hit Manhattanin all the
time I've lived here (50 years)... and one was a fizzle.

The scariest thing about New York is the crumbling infrastructure.

Hah! In 55 years, I've experienced one earthquake of note. It knocked
a glass milk bottle of coins off the top of some six foot book
shelves that broke and I had to clean up. We also lost power for a
couple of days. In the past few years I've lost count of the number
of blizzards and hurricanes that have hit New York City.
Careful, you'll jinx yourself.

I'd take a hurricane any day, at least you'd get a few days warning!

Cheers,
Dave
