Perhaps you never tried to do any real work on a first generation Apple Macintosh.
Between the reacquisition and the loss of Steve Jobs, Apple did many things well. They also did amny things that work well for some, and not at all for others. When the first non-phone iPhone (iPad touch?) was released, I really, really wanted to like the shiny. I tried, but I couldn't. I've always found IOS to be incredibly frustrating and counter intuitive.
