After having iPhones since they day they first came out in the UK Nov
2007, I've always been a pretty happy apple fanboy. That changed with
the 6 - I found it a bit big to use one-handed which is a serious
criterium for me. I've been on a BlackBerry Classic for a couple of
months and I love it. The software is nowhere near as good as iOS, and
the range of apps is pitiful compared to iOS devices. It's not as snappy
as an iPhone and the syncing abilities take a while to figure out
(although it will sync to the cloud and my iOS and OS X machines fine).

So why did I switch? Because it has character. I like the BB Hub as a
place for all my emails/texts/messages and most importantly it has a
'proper' qwerty keyboard on it with real buttons that click when you
push them. I use 2 thumbs and I can type faster and more accurately than
I ever could on iOS.

I also have an iPad Mini 2 for the apps and shit I need, and for the
lovely larger display.

Best of both worlds for me.

I do find it rather sad that I perceive Apple gradually turning into an
unstoppable leviathan that will eventually suck up all the world's
wealth and in return give us what it thinks we need rather than what we
actually need, sigh.
