When I was a kid I rarely shot color. It cost a lot more than processing
my own bulk rolled black and white, and I didn't have access to a color
darkroom. I do remember unsuccessful attempts at catching sunlight
shining through waves. Of course, I'd then have to wait days after
shooting to get home and have the photos processed for the inevitable
disappointment that I had missed the decisive moment in one of my four
to six attempted exposures.
The light at Davenport last week, which challenging in other ways, was
great for shining through the waves, which were also in nice form.
