Yes - you mix up the bagful of chems first. I use
those plastic gallon or 1/2 gallon fruit juice jugs
and keep'em in a dark closet.

For the amounts used in the developing tank, I use wide-
mouth salsa jars or similar for easy return of stop, fixer
& hypo-clearing solutions. I discard developer after one use.
To bring all chems up to temperature I use a simple water
bath in a container in the bathtub. I fill it enough that it
surrounds the jars well and run it "warm to the touch". I put
the thermometer in w/ the jars and read the temp after things
have stabilized (~15-20 minutes). Then I use that time/temp
data from the film's info-sheet for developing, removing each
solution as needed. The temp seems to stay close enough thru
the different steps. I do check the actual developer temp
itself before deciding on the developing time, though.
Care should be taken - but it's not "rocket science" ;^)
