It's also really easy to implement via control wheel. We've had, for
years, the ability to fine tune the control wheels from half stops to
third stops. There is no reason why a further fine tuning can't be
implemented providing the resolution of the aperture adjustment is
accurate enough. I don't think the mechanical coupling is really
accurate at finer than 1/3 stops, but a micromoter driven aperture
should be able to be accurate to a tenth of a stop or finer.
So, putting into the set up menu the option of finer resolution on the
aperture dial would be a fairly easy thing.
I think at that point, one would want the option closer to the surface,
perhaps built into the new command wheel (which is an effing marvelous
idea).
Thanks for the info. Has anyone tried the video on the K-1 and fine-
adjusting the aperture control? If so what increments ar epossible?
Right now, we are still stuck with 1/3 stops being the finest resolution
available. I'm sure we will get reports very early on when KAF4 lenses
start finding their way into people's hands.
