My Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 is a superb carbon fiber tripod: sturdy, light, easily expandable and rugged as one could hope for. The cool kids don't buy Manfrotto because it's not the trendy brand, but when I worked in ad agencies I found plenty of pro's used them. I've tried similarly sized Gitzos and you couldn't pay me to switch.
