I have upgraded every versions since version 2. LR6/CC is extremely heavy on RAM consumption. On an 8gb machine it is swapping constantly. Especially with photoshop open as well. It is using like 2-3GB at all times. At least on windows. I would suggest upgrading your RAM if you only have 8gb as well.
