I didn't make a leap from 4 to 6. I got there via Lightroom 5.
Two things about Lightroom, you can't have too much RAM, and if you are
able to, put the catalogue on a solid state drive that you aren't asking
to do anything else.
I'm using Windows with 32GB of RAM and a Solid state swap drive, it's
snappy like a rubber band sandwich.
